Elks National Foundation Community Impact Grants
Through the generosity of our members, Red Wing Elks # 845 has been able to exceed the Grand Exalted Ruler's goal for the past three years and apply for up to $6,000 in ENF Grants: Promise Grant, Gratitude Grant and Beacon Grant. Here's how we've utilized these funds to serve our community!
PROMISE GRANT: Red Wing Elks # 845 utilizes this youth-focused grant to partner with the Red Wing Police Department to conduct a Bike Rodeo to promote safety. Held at the Law Enforcement Center with the help of Elk volunteers, members of our Police & Fire departments as well as support from Southeast Technical College and the Red Wing Masons, this event served more than 150 kids in 2014. With the $2,000 grant from the Elks National Foundation, we were able to provide 18 bikes to give away to the kids along with 20 helmets 12 bike locks and some tire pumps.

GRATITUDE GRANT: Red Wing Elks # 845 utilizes this grant to support a youth golf program for deserving kids in our community. In 2013, this program assisted 75 kids and taught them some of the basics of this lifelong activity.
Held at the Red Wing Golf Club, the Junior Golf program is one way our members partner with local businesses to make a difference in the lives of our children! |
BEACON GRANT: Red Wing Elks # 845 utilizes this grant to support our local military families. While we haven't completed our 2014 event yet, in 2013, funds from our Beacon Grant were a major contributor to the Summer Family Picnic for the Army Reserve Unit based at the Red Wing Armory. At right, several of the Reserve members are receiving awards . . . notice the young daughter of one reservist, ice cream cone in hand, standing proudly behind her mother! (THAT is what being an Elk is all about!)
