Elks Hoop Shoot - This youth free throw shooting contest starts at our local shoot, held in early January. From there, winners advance to the Metro District Shoot, then to the State Shoot, followed by the Regional Hoop Shoot held in Iowa City, Iowa and, if fortunate enough to win there, on to the NATIONAL HOOP SHOOT held in Springfield, Massachusetts (Home of the Basketball Hall of Fame)
In 2014, Red Wing Elks #845 sponsored shooter, Kyli Nelson (daughter of Jessie & Tara Nelson) advanced all the way to the National Hoop Shoot! There, she placed 3rd of 12 shooters in her division. Congratulations to Kyli - we are so proud of her performance in this year's contest!!!!
