Why become an Elk member
When you join the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you are entering a family of nearly one-million upstanding American Citizens who love our country and desire to preserve its cherished institutions, traditions and values. The Red Wing Elks Lodge is more than just a bar where you can go and enjoy a couple of beverages or have something to eat. Elk members are “Good People Doing Good Things.” Of course, one cannot deny our Members like to socialize and have a good time at our Lodge, but we also never lose sight of our Order’s guiding principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity. As a member of the Red Wing Elks Lodge, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and share your talents (and maybe even acquire some new ones!) while having fun and contributing to the community as a supporter of our many benevolent and charitable activities. Our Lodge is designed to provide friendly atmosphere to socialize with other members and guests partnered with great food and beverages. In addition, members have the opportunity to take advantage of our banquet facilities to host a variety of activities like birthday parties, wedding receptions, anniversaries, work meetings, class reunions or fundraisers for local non-profits. Our newly remodeled lodge is one of the best venues in Red Wing! Another benefit of your Elks membership surfaces as you travel across our great country. Elk members are invited to stop into other lodges around the state and nation and they will welcome you with open arms as a member of our Order. Finding a friendly place to stop on the road has never been more true than with the Elks! Our state major project, the Mn Elks Youth Camp, is another reason why it’s great to be an Elk member! This camp serves deserving youth ages nine through thirteen with more than 600 children having the opportunity to enjoy a true camp experience. The camp setting includes 270 acres on Pelican and Markee Lakes near Nisswa where the children enjoy a wide variety of activities that are not only fun but teach them life skills, communication skills and give them the confidence they need to be successful. Every summer, the Red Wing Lodge sponsors seventeen deserving youth from our community to this camp each year at no charge to the youth or their family. At the end of the summer camp session, there are two weeks where Elks members can provide an opportunity for their children or grandchildren to attend the camp for a nominal fee. Red Wing Elks take great pride in the many benevolent activities we facilitate, support and/or sponsor! Activities like: Flag Day Ceremony, Veterans Leather donations, Veterans Day ceremonies, Flag Retirement Ceremonies, Adopt-A-Highway, Food baskets for deserving families, Hoop Shoot, Dictionaries for third graders, Drug Awareness, Soccer Shoot and supporting the MN Elks Youth Camp. We’re able to support our charitable programs through fundraisers like the River City Days beer tent, charitable gambling (pull tabs) in our lodge, the generosity of our members and by making our facilities available for use by local Non-Profits. |
